Gene Roddenberry: Up Close And Personal was an 82-minute documentary done by Beshert Productions which featured a 1981 long-form television interview with Gene Roddenberry by Ellen and Gene Adelstein. The 1981 footage was originally shot for KZAZ-TV, a Tucson, Arizona television station which held the very first 24-hour Star Trek television marathon.

A couple meets and befriends a celebrity couple while on a trip to Santa Barbara. Personal lines get crossed, among other things, and awkward hilarity ensues.

A young photographer wanders the city taking pictures with a Polaroid 600, but on each print the silhouette of a woman on a bicycle appears. The sequence of photos makes it clear that the woman is about to be hit by a trolleybus.
